Job and Career

The Danish Technological Institute places great emphasis on all applicants being treated in a fair and professional manner. At the same time it is important that the recruitment process results in selecting the candidate or candidates who are best suited to the job. Assessment is based on professional and personal competences as well as motivation in relation to the job itself and the centre you will work in.

The recruitment process typically takes about six weeks from deadline of application to the right candidate being found.

Job interview
When you come for a job interview with us, we expect that you are well prepared so that both you and we get as much out of it as possible. You can for example consider what you expect of us and what contribution you yourself can make.

We normally hold two interviews with potential employees before taking anyone on. The first interview is with the centre manager and often also an employee from the centre where you have applied for a job. At the second interview you will meet, besides the centre manager, also either the divisional director or a personnel consultant and in certain cases both.

First interview
The job interview gives you a glimpse into the job you have applied for and the centre you have applied to work in. After the interview you will hopefully have a clear idea of who we are so you can assess whether we are the right place for you.

The first interview therefore focuses mainly on your professional competences, just as you will get information about the job, the centre and the Institute in general. Based on the first interview you will either receive a rejection letter or an invitation to come for a second interview.

Second interview
The second interview is an extension of the first meeting, but is primarily aimed at your personal competences.

On the basis of our interviews with you as well as any references, we make a decision as to the right candidate for the job.

Rejection – then what?
Just because you were not successful for one position does not mean that you cannot apply for a job with us again. You are only assessed in relation to the actual job you are applying for at the time. You are therefore always welcome to apply for a position with us again, and you can choose to allow us to keep your CV on file in our CV database.

Test
As a general rule, we do not use tests, but depending on the nature of the job, there may be a personality test or an aptitude test. In all cases however the test functions merely as a supplement to the interview itself.
