Electrical conductivity in materials - Application

Conductive plastics and composite materials have several applications and properties. In PEM fuel cells the conductive polymer flow plates conduct the power; consequently, the resistance must be less than 0.02 Ω cm. The most common use of conductive plastics is to avoid ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD). ESD can damage sensitive electronics or ignite flammable products. Products must follow different sets of standards for the two areas.
