Green concrete is another name for resource-saving concrete structures, i.e. structures having a reduced environmental impact with regard to energy consumption, emissions and waste generation. Green concrete is very often also cheaper to produce, because residual materials from various industries are used as a partial substitute for cement. Furthermore, land-fill taxes are avoided, energy consumption in production is lowered, and durability is improved.
