Project – Diversity and innovation within the care sector
DINOVA
Project start August 2008. Expected completion June 2010.
In the DINOVA project we establish a three-leaf clover of institutions of knowledge, governmental and private sector tenders of care service areas and technology supply, a practical field concerning the development and testing of new methods, which actively use employee’s diversity as an innovative driving force.
Diversity – From Problem To Resource
The decisive element in the new project is that diversity is central as a driving force in the professional organisation. Accordingly, we change the usual perception of the term ´diversity`, from being exclusive to Human Resource (HR) or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to being a central resource in the organisations innovative capacities.
Diversities Innovative Drive – A New Concept
In it’s duration, the project develops and tests new methods of the fundamental forces of diverse innovation. Diversity driven innovation is a new concept, which is researched and tested during the projects term. The concept will relate to different, established innovation approaches.

Activities
The project establishes five innovative courses of competence and intervention development at five retirement / care homes and training centres, where the development of new ideas is supported and there is a good working relation with both the private and public sector. By establishing a practical field we create a new structure for co-operation and alliances between the private and public sector.
The project is followed up by continuous evaluation and concept development with the aim of developing a method handbook and e-learning tools that describe methods, and offer advice / guidance on how to turn diversity from a challenge into an innovative resource.
