IntelliCare - Integration and Interaction between Intelligent Grooming Products and the Surroundings

Intellicare

Project start August 2008. Expected completion not yet known.

The innovation consortium, Intellicare, is seeking to develop useful and people-related solutions to the growing care-giving problems in the welfare system. The Consortium will create a technological platform, which can establish integration and interaction between intelligent tools of care and the surroundings.

The project will build a care centre, where technology and applications based on Intellicare are integrated. The platform will take into consideration the individual activity patterns and needs of both caregivers and seniors, and realise the synergy between the tools of care and other technology. The demonstrator will strengthen Danish research in the area of intelligent, autonomous systems, thus providing a lever for Danish export of comprehensive, integrated welfare systems.

The Consortium also focuses on sociological aspects in relation to the technological possibilities. The Consortium will therefore investigate the socio-cultural contexts, which have a supporting or impeding effect for the development and implementation of intelligent technology in senior care.

Project Objectives
The project is working in three areas: information for people in residential homes, the information flow between seniors and caregivers, and caregivers’ communication with the service robots. The overall objective is to deal with these three areas and elucidate them satisfactorily.
