Project - Stronger technological understanding among teachers and nurses

TECHNUCATION - Technological Literacy and New Employee Driven Innovation through Education

Project start March 2011. The project is expected to finish March 2015.

Teachers and nurses must be better prepared to handle interaction with new technologies in their working life. Technology and innovation should be better integrated during their education to ensure competence and understanding of the technology that will be needed in the labour market.

Human Resources Development at Danish Technological Institute takes part in TECHNUCATION, a new research project that focuses on better technology implementation for teachers and nurses in their working life. This project examines how technology implementation and especially understanding it can be optimized among future teachers and nurses not only to be able to apply technology in their work, but also to have them contribute as co-innovators and drivers to the technological innovation processes.

Project objectives
This project combines ethnographic field studies with experimental 'Living Labs' to uncover needs and simulate job situations with new technology. Based on these studies, new ideas for teaching and learning concepts will be developed to strengthen technological competences among future teachers and nurses.
