Food microbiology - Molecular methods

The Danish Technological Institute offers testing of food products based on molecular biological methods including:

 

  • qPCR for total bacteria count
  • qPCR for Bacillus sp., Streptococcus sp. and Lactobacillus sp.
  • qPCR for E.coli and Entrococcus sp.
  • qPCR for Salmonella sp. and Listeria sp.
  • qPCR for Bacteroides sp. and human-specific Bacteroides dorei
  • PCR for Clostridium butyricum and Clostridium tyrobutyricum
  • Fingerprint of the bacterial flora using DGGE for total bacteria or select groups such as Bacillus sp., Streptococcus sp. and Lactobacillus sp.
  • Cloning and sequencing
