Wood and bio based materials

At Danish Technological Institute, we expect that wood and bio materials will play an increasingly important part of the future in keeping with the desire to make products and materials more sustainable.

Wood has always been one of the preferred materials in construction, but in the future biomass such as straw, algae, recycled materials etc. will become increasingly important when developing new materials that meet future demands for a Bio based society - a society independent of fossil raw materials.

Our many experts can help with everything concerning testing of and consultancy on wood-based products and development and testing of bio based materials and technologies.

We strive to be the construction industry's preferred supplier within the field - an ambition which is underlined by our advanced laboratories and our application-oriented research in close collaboration with clients and knowledge centres in Denmark and internationally.

How can Danish Technological Institute help you?
We offer expert knowledge on wood and other bio based materials and products. Additionally, we have advanced facilities for testing of the physical and mechanical properties of the material (life span, moisture content, moisture-related movements, durability, strength and rigidity, discoloration, biological durability (mould, fungi) etc. Our services include:
