Oil and gas

Microbiological services
IQ KitOur microbiologists are world leading in developing low-cost and sensitive detection tools for bacterial enumeration. Our analyses for troublesome oil-living microbes can be performed on injection water, produced water, and scale material. Microbes are analyzed with fast and robust culture independent methods such as: DAPI, qFISH, qPCR and DNA-based Fingerprinting Methods (DGGE).

Our services include:

Bacterial activity and counts
Total bacterial counts (DAPI counting), quantitative Fluorescent In Situ Hybridization (qFISH), and quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) is employed for enumeration of:

  •  Total microorganisms
  •  Bacteria
  • Archaea (corrosive)
  • Sulphate Reducing Bacteria (SRB)
  • Sulphate Reducing Archaea (SRA)
  • Methanogens
  • NUB
  • Selected Troublesome Microbes (TM)

Analyses of other groups of microorganisms can be performed on a custom basis

Detection of Sulfate Reducing Bacteria

Monitoring of all Sulfate Reducing Bacteria and Archaea performed with molecular methods based on qPCR (quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction).

Fingerprinting methods and identification
Fingerprinting methods determine the distribution and identity of Bacteria and/or Archaea with DNA-based fingerprinting techniques (DGGE, ARISA, tRFLP).
