Quality assurance of plastic products
Select Page
Danish-produced products are known for high quality; nevertheless, complaints sometimes occur regarding plastic components that have cracked, discolored, or otherwise failed to meet expectations.
The Plastics Laboratory at the Danish Technological Institute has, over the years, examined many defective items and now shares this experience to prevent complaints or to investigate new ones in order to determine the cause.
If your company is leaving the design phase with a product, or if you are facing a change in supplier or raw material, it may be sensible to review the material specification.
When it comes to identifying foreign bodies or lack of weldability, this usually requires urgent action.
In all cases, you are welcome to write or call us.
What can the Danish Technological Institute help you with?
- Failure analysis – identifying the cause of discoloration, cracks, or other types of failure
- CT scanning of plastic products with resolutions down to the micrometer range
- Clarifying whether the product is molded in the right material under the correct conditions
- Independent third-party statements in connection with complaints and unforeseen incidents
- Testing of welds and other joints
- Investigations in case of changes in raw materials and the impact on product lifetime
- Deformulating existing material and preparing specifications
