The Danish Robot and Automation Expo 2021: The interest in robots broke the record for the 100th anniversary of the robots
With more than 3,000 participants over two days and 76 exhibitors on DIRA Business the interest in robots once again broke the record when the Danish Robot and Automation Expo (ROBOTBRAG) made a comeback at Danish Technological Institute with their 100th anniversary celebration for robots.
There was plenty to celebrate when the Danish robot Industry, curious companies and students again meet at Danish Technological Institute for the Danish Robot and Automation Expo and DIRA Business on the 26th and 27th of August 2021.
First, it was the 100th anniversary for the word 'robot'. Secondly, it was possible to meet again, to mingle and be inspired after one and a half year of corona-hiding. And lastly, there were of course the opening of a new robotics lab. More on that later.
Because it was not all Danish 'brunsviger' cake and orchestra.
The Danish Robot and Automation Expo 2021 reached a record high number of exhibited robot technologies, which companies could be inspired by.
For one, the more than 3,000 participants over two days could experience the highly advanced robot dog Spot, innovative robot solutions for a wide range of industries and numerous product news in DIRA Business’ circus tent.
In the Danish Technological Institute’s robot innovation halls, you could explore cobots in all shapes and sizes, drones for all layers of air, and advanced camera technology which can detect errors invisible for the naked eye.
There were artificial intelligence for separation of waste, food processing and Mars missions. Robots for fighting climate crisis and corona control. Large robots, small robots and virtual robots.
Finally, there were the autonomous, cross-country robots which got a whole new lab.
The future of robot technology is not only reserved for the factories
The Danish Robot and Automation Expo 2021 was also an occasion for the Danish Technological Institute to inaugurate the new Autonomous Robotics Lab – a lab which shall help companies to fulfill the full potential of intelligent, autonomous robots which can work outside the traditional protected production facilities.
The robots should be implemented in our everyday life, in public spaces. They need to help more in sectors such as agriculture, health care, construction and logistics.
Tomorrow’s workforce and job market
As something new, the Danish Robot and Automation Expo had been extended by an extra day – a learning day exclusively for pupils and students who could come in and be inspired by the technology that will shape their future work life.
At the same time, the day provided new knowledge and inspiration to the teachers who will equip the young people for the future.
The Danish Robot and Automation Expo Learning Day – which was arranged in cooperation with Videnscenter for Automation og Robotteknologi – attracted more than 1,300 participants.
