Excel - Advanced

Learn about the more advanced elements of Excel. We will focus on larger amounts of data, and how you can create advanced, and user-friendly sheets and structure more complicated economic models.

More about the course

Do you want to use Excel rationally and professionally to make advanced analyses and sheet operations? Then this course, on which hundreds have already participated, is relevant for you. Excel is much more than just to add or subtract numbers. Often it gets much easier, if you let Excel do the work for you – you will learn how to on this course. It will cover the more advanced functions and the improved functions in Excel – for example the improved pivot tables.


  • Short repetition of basic Excel – with a focus on absolute and relative cell references
  • To protect formula and text cells against changes
  • Excel’s function wizard with predefined formulas like VLOOKUP, IF and ROUND
  • Advanced conditional formatting – use of data bars and icons instead of colours
  • To print sheets with headers and footers and other elements
  • Use of the new Page Layout view
  • Use the group and outline function
  • Use sparklines (charts in cells)
  • Advanced use of charts and formatting tools
  • Create links between data and copies of them
  • To name cells and use them instead of absolute references ($ signs) in formulas
  • Use of data table and create scenarios and goal seek
  • How to handle dates and time
  • Create hyperlinks and save as a website
  • Import of data from other programs
  • Data analysis with filter, subtotals, forms and database functions
  • Improved sorting tools
  • Pivot tables and charts and use of filters and sorting tools in pivot tables
