Keynote: Local Collective Tariffing – Background and Method

Presenter: Jimmy Schipper Bjaaland, Cerius-Radius

Jimmy Schipper Bjaaland is a business developer and Senior Strategic Analyst at Cerius-Radius. Since 2014, he has been working on the development of the electricity grid of the future and regulatory models for Danish distribution companies. He is also the author of the publication “Sammen om elnettet 2025” and has extensive expertise in electricity distribution, electricity regulation, and tariff design. Jimmy has a strong focus on collaboration between grid companies, energy communities, and other stakeholders. He drives the development of solutions that combine economic efficiency, technical robustness, and the needs of customers. In his work with innovative tariff models - including local collective rating - he helps support a more flexible and green electrification of Denmark.

Mathias Damgaard Mørch is the Education Manager at GreenLab, where he designs simulations, workshops, and interdisciplinary projects. Mathias focuses on translating research into practice and making complex topics such as energy communities, flexibility, and green symbiosis tangible and applicable.

Electrical Energy Storage in Energy Communities

Presenters: Jens Lindbjerg, Rødkærsbro Energifællesskab & Katharina Brarup Ingwersen, Danish Technological Institute

Jens grew up and was educated as the 4th generation in Danish dairy farming, supplemented with a degree in economics. He has held various management positions and, for the past 26 years, has run his own innovative food trading company, which is now continued by his son as the 5th generation. He himself is an active retiree.

Katharina has a strong interdisciplinary profile. She is involved in both the mechanical design and development of components for our electrical systems, and also conducts energy flow analyses for some of Denmark's combined heat and power plants, industrial areas, and airports.

Energy communities – a key piece in the green transition

Presenter: Henrik Bielefeldt, Energifællesskaber Danmark

Henrik Bielefeldt is a board member of Energifællesskaber Danmark, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and improving the framework conditions for energy communities. Henrik serves as Head of Project Development at Sustain, a Danish company that collaborates with energy communities to assess potential, develop business cases, and design technical solutions.

Presenter: Zahra Eshafani, Aarhus University

Zahra Esfahani is an Assistant Professor at Aarhus University focused on storage-driven resilience for energy hubs and microgrids, with an emphasis on protecting critical loads and advancing the digitalization of minigrids for data-driven operation. Through Horizon Europe projects, she develops practical methods—storage sizing, reserve policies, reliable operation, and KPI tracking—aligned with future industry needs for scalable, upgradeable solutions. Her work connects battery know-how with measurable outcomes (uptime, TCO, sustainability), positioning storage as the stability core of next-generation energy hubs.

Presenter: Jesper Koch, Dansk Fjernvarme

Jesper Koch is Head of Analysis at Danish District Heating association. With a strong background in energy policy and strategic analysis, Jesper plays a key role shaping the green transition of district heating in Denmark. He has also served as leader of the think tank Grøn Energi, where he focused on sustainable energy systems, analysis and long-term planning. Jesper is known for his ability to translate complex technical data into actionable strategies for policymakers.

Ville is Head of Business Development for Northern Europe in Rondo Energy, one of the world’s leading thermal energy storage companies. Rondo has several running units globally and several published ongoing projects in Europe. Ville has been leading Rondo’s efforts in Northern Europe for more than 3,5 years and has wide experience from what customers are expecting from thermal energy storage, what are the pain points and how technology can scale up rapidly. Before Rondo Ville has almost 15 years’ experience in Nordic energy markets in various roles. Including renewable electricity production and various directly market related positions on portfolio management and optimizing consumption and production on Nordic energy markets.
