CO2 uptake during the concrete life cycle - Objectives

The objectives of the Nordic R&D project ”CO₂ uptake during the concrete life cycle” is to provide better documentation of concrete carbonation, i.e. CO₂ uptake. The purpose of this documentation is twofold. Firstly, it is to be used for environmental assessments of specific concrete buildings and structures. Secondly, it is the intention to evaluate the effect of concrete carbonation on the overall CO₂ emissions from cement and concrete production in the Nordic countries.

The project was running from Dec. 2003 to August 2005.
