Clogging test
DTI offers an accredited clogging test according to standards EN1253-7:2022 and EN1253-8:2022
The Clogging test 4.5.2 is intended for trapped floor gullies with:
- Mechanical closure
and
- Combined mechanical closure and water seal
The test consists of subjecting the floor gully to several cycles to establish its behavior over time.
A liquid composition of synthetic bathroom greywater is blended. A mix of artificial hair short and long fibres are added to the greywater on the test bench and circulated through the floor gully at a specifiet temperature and flow for a defined number of cycles. By the end of the test, resistance to pressure and odour-tightness test is carried out.
Requirements according the standard:
The floor gullies and their components shall show no visible deformation or damage which could affect their fitness for use/which impair their function (odour tightness and resistance to pressure).
After the test, the functional characteristics shall be maintained. The floor gully shall comply with 4.4.1 and 4.9.1.1.
