Change Management™ v3 Foundation

Enhance your skills in planning and executing change, and in deriving value from change initiatives within your organization. This course is designed to aid effective team members and professionals engaged in organizational change projects.

About the course

Change Management is associated with the effects and management of change; this is primarily within organisations where change can have greater impact. This qualification is based on the theory and application of change for the individual, change for the organisation, communication and stakeholder engagement and change management best practice. Once you have passed the Foundation qualification you can progress to the more advanced Practitioner qualification.

Target audience

The Change Management qualification is aimed at anyone involved in change at any level within an organisation. It may be Change leaders (e.g. Senior Responsible Owners), Change Managers, Portfolio Managers. Organisational Development Managers, Change ‘agents’ (e.g. Business Change Managers), Change implementers (e.g. Programme/Project Managers), Change support (e.g. Programme/Project Office) and Operational Line
Managers/staff, and Senior Management.
 

Prerequisites

There are no formal pre-requisites required in order to begin a Foundation course in Change Management.

Learning Objectives

The Foundation certification is also a pre-requisite for the Practitioner certification.

  • Identify the essential aspects of the organizational environment where a change initiative is occurring, including the advantages the organization aims to achieve, the strategy being used for the change, and the organizational culture.
  • Offer a variety of viewpoints on the different human reactions observed during a change initiative, proposing methods to manage the change to reduce adverse effects and support individuals throughout the transition.
  • Differentiate between legitimate concerns about a change and resistance to it, recognizing signs of resistance and suggesting strategies to alleviate it.
  • Advise and endorse suitable actions by individuals in various change roles, such as change sponsors, line leaders, and change agents, while fostering and sustaining effective teamwork during change.
  • Outline key components of the stakeholder engagement process in a change initiative and connect this to developing suitable communication strategies.
  • Engage with colleagues about the different impact areas of a change initiative, the intensity of these impacts, and how to evaluate change progress.

Online Change Management Foundation package from Danish Technological Institute

You will get a solid bundle of teaching material with the online course package from the Danish Technological Institute, which consists of:

  • Change Management Foundation exam - Valid for 12 months from purchase date. Must be taken online via web proctor

You complete the modules via your PC or tablet with audio and access to the internet. You decide when you want to take the modules – and they can be paused along the way.

Materials

Please note: A digital version of the official Change Management v3 study guide is available upon redemption of your Change Management Foundation exam voucher on the APMG portal. Instructions regarding how to redeem will be sent directly to your nominated email address.
All materials and exam are in English.

Exam/certification

Exams are taken online via remote proctor. You will be able to book your online exam at a date and time of your choice. You are responsible for booking your own exam.

  • Multiple choice
  • Four sections, total of 50 questions
  • 25 marks required to pass (out of 50 available) - 50%
  • 40 minutes duration
  • Closed-book

The purpose of the Foundation certification is to confirm that a candidate has sufficient knowledge and understanding of Change Management to work as an informal member of a team working on an organisational change initiative.

Duration

This course is expected to take approximately 10-12 hours.
