Danish and international speakers put focus on practical application as well as experiences, challenges, regulation and impact of ecodesign and energy labelling at a two-day conference held at Danish Technological Institute, Denmark, on 14-15 November 2016.
Would this have been important to me?
If you are a manufacturer, importer, authority or ministry – the short answer is YES!
The past, present and future
The conference worked within the field of ecodesign and energy labelling, which all parts of the industry without a doubt have to navigate in. A vast number of products are already covered by the ecodesign requirements and more products are following in coming years.
The conference introduced the participants to Danish and international legislation and market surveillance. They learned what is written and what is unwritten from authorities as well as EU representatives, who talked about the implementation of ecodesign and energy labelling requirements, the challenges of market surveillance and the cooperation across borders in the EU. The conference looked at the past, present and future of ecodesign and energy labelling in practical application – thereby making sure that we have learned what can be learned from past experience and that we use this experience in the future.
The participants also heard speakers from international quality schemes and manufacturers, who introduced them to their experiences in the field.
The conference introduced speakers such as:
- Bjarke Hansen, Danish Energy Agency
- Pia Westphalen, Secretariat for Ecodesign and Energy Labelling of Products
- David Kroon, NIBE
- Stephan Pähler, Stiebel Eltron
- Els Baert, Daikin Europe
- Carolina Carmo, NF PAC
Visit to a Danish manufacturer
Moreover, the participants had the chance to visit two Danish manufacturers, which shared their experiences with ecodesign and energy labelling in practice with the participants.
It was possible to choose between Johnson Controls and Advansor.
