Digital Calibration Certificates (DCC) – Theme Day 2025

Digitalization within calibration is progressing rapidly. While PDF certificates have become commonplace, the next major leap lies in fully machine-readable formats Digital Calibration Certificates (DCC) - that enable seamless, automated transfer of calibration data into digital systems.

In recent years, the DCC concept has matured, but the proliferation of different solutions underlines the urgent need for harmonization and international standardization. Denmark continues to play an active role: DFM chairs the European working group under TC-IM 1448, of which Danish Technological Institute is also a member. DFM also contributes to the global BIPM working group, ensuring that Danish priorities and user experiences help shape the future DCC landscape.

This theme day, hosted by the Danish Technological Institute in collaboration with DFM and FORCE Technology, will spotlight:

• Current technical developments in DCC, including the DCC v3.3.0 format and the growing international and European cooperation.
• The increasing adoption and importance of Digital Calibration Requests (DCR), and an update on the development of DFM’s DCX format.
• Case studies from Danish companies, demonstrating practical DCC implementation, benefits, and lessons learned.
• Opportunities to contribute your experiences and feedback to ongoing international standardization efforts.
