Measuring of water vapour transmission rates (WVTR)
It can be important to know the permeability of materials to water vapour, especially when used for packaging of foodstuffs or pharmaceutical products, as the rate of which water vapour is transported through the packaging can determine the shelf life of the products.
Water Vapour Transmission Rate (WVTR) is a measurement of the amount of water that passes through a substance over a given period of time.
Mocon PERMATRAN-W Model 3/34 is a test system for measuring of water vapour transmission rate on films, whole packages and many other items. With an infrared sensor PERMATRAN-W 3/34 can measure in a detection range from 0.005 to 100 g/(m2*day)
We perform tests in accordance with ASTM F1249
