TOGAF® EA Training - Combined

Gain a thorough understanding of the terminology, structure, and fundamental concepts in the TOGAF® Standard 10th Edition and comprehend the core principles of Enterprise Architecture and TOGAF®. You will gain both foundational knowledge and understanding, as well as practical application of the TOGAF® framework. The course is a ‘Combined course’ and covers both TOGAF® EA Training – Foundation and Practitioner, as well as the associated exams.

Prerequisites

There are no formal prerequisites for participating in the course. However, experience within the IT domain is recommended.

Note: To be certified at the TOGAF® EA Training – Practitioner level, you must have passed the TOGAF® EA Training – Foundation exam.

Content

Part 1

  • The concepts of Enterprise Architecture and the TOGAF® Standard
  • The key terminology of the TOGAF® standard
  • The Architecture Development Method (ADM) cycle and the objectives of each phase, and how to adapt and scope the ADM for use
  • The techniques available to support application of the ADM
  • Applying the ADM, including use of iteration, partitioning, and application in a Digital enterprise
  • How Architecture Governance contributes to architecture development
  • Architecture content – the outputs produced while executing the ADM

Part 2

  • The context within which an Enterprise Architecture practitioner must operate
  • How to apply the stakeholder management technique
  • How to implement the Architecture Development Method (ADM)
  • How to implement Architecture change management
  • How to manage the architecture requirements
  • How to use The Open Group Library
  • How to support the ADM work with applicable techniques
  • Using architecture levels to organize the Architecture Landscape
  • The Architecture Content Framework

Form

The instruction alternates between a combination of lectures, case studies, and group discussions.

You should expect a considerable amount of homework in the evenings during the course days. Experience shows that repeating the material between course days, as well as completing the mock exam, can be crucial for passing the final exam. After the course has ended, you should expect to spend between 10 and 20 hours on exam preparation.

Certification

The OGEA-103 TOGAF® Enterprise Architecture Combined Part 1 and Part 2 Exam is included in the price. You can decide when you want to book the exam yourself. However, the exam must be completed no later than 12 months after the end of the course.

Part 1

  • Number of questions: 40
  • Time: 60 minutes + 30 minutes extra if your native language is not English*
  • Format: Multiple-choice
  • You must answer at least 24 questions correctly (60%) to achieve certification
  • If you do not pass the certification, you must wait one month before you can make a new attempt

Part 2

  • Number of questions: 8
  • Time: 90 minutes + 30 minutes extra if your native language is not English*
  • Format: Scenario-based questions
  • The exam is an "open book" exam and consists of 8 questions. To pass, you must achieve 24 points (60%).
  • An electronic version of the TOGAF standard is built into the exam. No books are allowed to be used during the exam.
  • If you do not pass the certification, you must wait one month before you can make a new attempt
