3D print – Quality Assurance

This online course focuses on how to ensure the quality of your 3D-printed components. The course explains how to approach quality control and at the same time look at some of the typical defects and deviations - and how to test for them.

This online course focuses on how to ensure the quality of your 3D-printed components. Quality assurance has become increasingly important with the growing prevalence of Industrial 3D printing. The course focuses on how to approach quality control and at the same time looks at some of the typical defects and deviations - and how to test for them. The course can be completed in both Danish and English and is available online for 365 days.

Learn how to ensure the quality of 3D-printed components
Additive Manufacturing (AM) - or 3D printing - is increasingly used as a production resource and thus no longer only for prototypes. Several independent analyses point to 3D printing as one of the manufacturing technologies that Danish industry can use to improve competitiveness and maintain Danish production jobs.

In this course, we go in depth with the quality assurance of 3D-printed components. Quality assurance is becoming increasingly important as 3D printing is used more and more in the manufacture of industrial end components - including the critical ones. You will learn how to work with quality assurance, and you will gain insight into some of the typical defects and challenges that can arise when working with 3D printing - and you will learn how to test for them. With the Danish Technological Institute as a course provider, you are also sure to get an independent and objective review of the methods.

Benefits

  • Understanding of why, when and how to ensure quality in connection with 3D printing
  • Insight into what you can test - and different test methods
  • Overview of typical defects and challenges associated with 3D printing
  • Knowledge of different component categories - and their respective test needs
  • Knowledge of standardization activities within 3D printing

Content

  • Quality control of 3D printed parts
A review of why and when to examine quality - and not least how to approach quality control
  • Typical defects and deviations in 3D printing
We focus on some of the typical defects and deviations that can occur when using 3D printing technology - and what test methods you can use to check for them
  • Standardization activities within 3D printing
A look at the standardization work that takes place within 3D printing - including the overall standardization structure, different ISO standards and levels of testing in relation to application

Duration

The course consists of 4 modules and can be completed in just under 30 minutes.

Format

This online course consists of several video modules, which you can access for 365 days upon registration. Each module consists of a video, and in addition there is a short introduction which explains how the course works. Slides in the videos are in English but the speak is made in both Danish and English. There are test questions along the way to ensure the understanding of the content.
You complete the course modules via your computer or tablet with audio and access to the Internet. You can control when and in what order you want to complete the modules - and they can be paused along the way. Consequently, you do not have to complete all modules at once.
