IREB® Requirements Engineering Foundation

The Requirement Engineering certification course gives you a professional and structured way of working with requirements. The course adds value by reducing the risk of developing the wrong system, helping you better understand the end-user’s problem, providing a basis for estimating the development effort. The availability of proper requirements is a prerequisite for testing the system. IREB-Certification is included in the course.

Target audience

This course is for everyone working with Requirements Engineering, Business Analysis, testing, software, and systems development, who is demanding in terms of quality and professionalism, should strive for it.
 
It doesn’t matter if you’re working agile, DevOps or waterfall, then you can use the core knowledge of this topic. The Foundation Level encompasses the elicitation of requirements with appropriate documentation, requirements verification and validation as well as their management throughout the end-to-end product life cycle. The course is especially useful for the following roles:

There are no prerequisites to applying for the Foundation Level, but we recommend that you have practical experience in the field of requirements.

Form

During the 3 days of the course the syllabus will be covered. Our courses are characterized by a high level of activity, as the theory is supported by examples and exercises. You should expect about 10 hours of preparation prior to the course, and 10 hours after the course before the exam. The course material and the exam will both be in English.

Certification

You will recieve an exam voucher and can book your exam online or in our Test Center.
 
Exam questions can be both single questions with only one correct answer as well as multiple questions with two or more correct answers. There are also True/False Statements. The exam is closed book, i.e. no materials are allowed to be used. To pass the exam, you must achieve at least 70% of the total score possible.
The questions vary in difficulty and therefore are assigned a different number of points (1-3 points).

  • Duration of the exam: 75 minutes and for non-native speakers, 90 minutes
