Smart CO2 Heat Pump - Updates from the project
Select Page
This page provides ongoing updates from the SmartCO2 Heat Pump Project, including news, technical developments, and key milestones.
The project focuses on developing a medium-capacity heat pump (20–200 kW) that uses CO₂ as a natural, non-toxic, and non-flammable refrigerant. The goal is to offer an efficient and cost-competitive alternative to conventional heat pump systems that use HFO refrigerants, while addressing both environmental and performance concerns.
The project runs from January 2023 to the end of 2025 and is carried out in collaboration with several industry and research partners, supported by EUDP funding.
This page will be updated continuously as the project progresses.
