INPROCAP: Innovation and Green Transition in Public Procurement

INPROCAP is a three year EU financed project under the Horizon Europe CSA Action.

Strengthened procurement of Innovation through Knowledge, Networks, and Collaboration

INPROCAP strengthens the procurement of innovation in the Big Science environment by gathering and sharing knowledge from previous projects, creating new collaboration opportunities with industry, and offering targeted training to both companies, procurement advisers at Big Science Organisations, and their Industrial Liaison Officers, as well as identifying current needs among Big Science organisations. Additionally, the project brings together stakeholders from seven countries in a network, where experiences and solutions are shared across national borders in order to strengthen awareness of the benefits of procuring innovation.

Specific project objectives

  • Motivate European start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises to engage in the procurement of innovation with Big Science organisations. This is achieved through campaigns, workshops, and events.
  • Share knowledge and new tools with those responsible for procurement and innovation, enabling them to support the development of innovative solutions.
  • Create connections between the competencies of companies and the specific needs of Big Science organisations, and establish new partnerships.
  • Establish a network for the exchange of experience and training, raising the overall level of competence in the Big Science ecosystem and ensuring high quality in procurement and innovation.

Project activities

  • Preparation of analyses and mapping of existing practices across participating countries
  • Development of training programs and e-learning materials for purchasers in Big Science
  • Organization of workshops, webinars, and networking activities
  • Testing and dissemination of innovative procurement methods and best-practice cases
  • Ongoing knowledge sharing via website and reports
