
RTI Summit 2025: A Research and Technology Infrastructures Ecosystem for Breakthrough Science and Innovation
The conference was held on October 22–23, 2025, at the Scandic Hotel in Copenhagen. The technical visits to technology infrastructures took place on October 21, and the visit to the research infrastructure ESS – European Spallation Source – was held on October 24.
Together for Europe’s Future Research and Technology Infrastructure
The RTI Summit 2025, held under the Danish EU Presidency, brings together decision-makers, industry, and researchers to strengthen Europe’s future research and technology infrastructures. The conference highlights the implementation of a new European strategy for RTI, focusing on supporting innovation, research quality, and the green transition across Europe.

Specific project objectives
- Presentation of the new European strategy for research and technology infrastructures
- Discussions on new technologies, including quantum technology, green energy, and circular materials
- Dialogue on sustainable financing models for research and technology infrastructures
- Strengthened cross-sector collaboration with more than 40 exhibitors and 300 participants
- A shared focus on more impactful and integrated innovation in Europe
Project activities
- Excursion to technology infrastructure laboratories at the Danish Technological Institute
- Presentations by key actors from European institutions and research organisations
- Thematic workshops on key challenges and future opportunities for research and technology infrastructures
- Networking for participants across sectors and national borders
- Excursion to the ESS research facility in Lund, Sweden
