Defence and emergency preparedness: analysis, innovation and collaboration on technology

Strengthening Danish defence and emergency preparedness, as well as overall societal security, requires strong collaboration and insight into technological developments. Danish Technological Institute is familiar with the defence technology agenda and plays an important part in the Danish ecosystem in this field. We provide market analyses with technology at the core and facilitate networks and innovation in areas such as drone and counter-drone technology (C-UAS). We also work with the broader business policy agendas within the defence sector, including workforce and skills. Finally, we contribute knowledge and analyses regarding Denmark’s emergency preparedness.

What can we offer?

We can map technological developments within one or more areas and identify key stakeholders in Denmark and internationally. This provides insight into the direction in which defence technology is moving and the stakeholders driving its development. We analyse Denmark’s defence industry on the basis of data, interviews and surveys among companies and experts. In addition, we identify regulatory, skills-related, workforce-related and technological barriers to innovation and growth. We also facilitate networks between researchers, companies and other relevant stakeholders with the aim of developing new, concrete technological solutions for the defence sector. Among other initiatives, Danish Technological Institute runs the UDIN project, which supports and mobilises Denmark’s drone technology ecosystem.
