Ecosystems: analysis and mapping of ecosystems and collaboration

Technological developments that help address major societal challenges rarely emerge within a single organisation. More often, they result from collaboration between businesses, research institutions, public authorities, investors and other relevant stakeholders. Understanding the dynamics and barriers within these ecosystems is therefore essential to support technology development and implementation and strengthen the business position of specific regions.

What can we offer?

We map and analyse ecosystems and offer strategic recommendations. Drawing on our unique DIVE company database and discussions with key stakeholders in the field, we identify current and potential ecosystem participants. We provide qualitative and quantitative analyses of the potential of both existing and emerging ecosystems and the challenges they face. We typically involve relevant key stakeholders through workshops and similar activities to strengthen engagement and build shared ownership. Based on the findings, we develop recommendations that can provide a foundation for strategy and communications in the next stages of the work.

The Nordic Space Technology Ecosystem

The Nordic countries have considerable expertise in space technology, but small domestic markets, limited cross-border collaboration and challenges in scaling up limit the potential. This report maps capabilities and gaps across Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden and explores opportunities for closer collaboration on space innovation. It identifies the main barriers, sets out five strategic recommendations and proposes practical initiatives to strengthen the Nordic space sector and increase the region’s global impact.

A roadmap for building a Danish position of strength in quantum technology for defence (report in Danish)

Denmark has a world-class quantum research community, but research alone does not create defence capability. This report analyses the Danish ecosystem for defence-relevant quantum technology, focusing on companies and investors. It identifies barriers, makes strategic recommendations and proposes practical initiatives to help turn Denmark’s research strengths into defence capabilities and a stronger defence industry.
