From factory floor to space: Cyber-startup builds its next chapter from Odense, Denmark
23 September 2026
Scurid is preparing for its next phase of growth, with ambitions spanning the factory floor to space and an initial market focus on Denmark, the wider European Union and Japan. As it completes the Odense Robotics StartUp Fund incubator programme at Danish Technological Institute in Odense, Denmark, the cybersecurity company is building on its existing technology and customer relationships to scale internationally.
At the heart of Scurid’s technology is a practical requirement for connected machines: knowing which device produced data and whether that data has been altered.
Scurid combines digital device identity with data integrity verification.
Its focus on manufacturing and robotics, space and defence brings that foundation to sectors where machines increasingly exchange information and act on it.
When Scurid joined the incubator in 2024, it already had customers in Japan and technology developed through several years of R&D. The team brought that foundation to Odense to develop its presence in Denmark and Europe, with the incubator providing commercial guidance, technical expertise and introductions.
Focused on scaling
– Our ambition is to build Scurid into a global cyber physical security company, helping secure connected systems from the factory floor to Space. Denmark, the wider EU and Japan are our initial priorities. We are building from the customer experience we gained in Japan, newly established Danish customers and the engineering base we have in Odense, says Sushant Pandey, Founder and CEO of Scurid.
During the programme, Scurid refined how it packages its technology into offerings and services for customers.
The team also concentrated its resources on manufacturing and robotics, space and defence, where device identity and verifiable data are relevant to connected and autonomous systems.
– For me, scale means making our technology practical to deploy and manage across growing fleets of physical AI. I want to enable our users to make their Physical AI and autonomous decision making verifiable, says Sushant.
Guidance from the incubator helped the team refine its business model and connect product development more closely with its commercial priorities.
Odense remains Scurid’s R&D base
Leaving the incubator does not mean leaving Odense.
Since joining the programme, Scurid has expanded from software into hardware development. It has built a team and established office facilities and R&D equipment in Odense, while drawing on technical expertise at Danish Technological Institute (DTI).
The company plans to retain the majority of its core R&D in Odense and continue working with the technical expertise available locally.
– We have built a team and an R&D base in Odense, and we intend to keep building here. Access to DTI's expertise is valuable as we develop hardware alongside our software, says Sushant.
A local ecosystem with international reach
For Scurid, the incubator programme has also provided access to a network extending far beyond Odense.
Through connections originating in the Odense Robotics ecosystem, Scurid has joined the ESA Business Incubation Centre programme and Defence Tech Denmark and developed closer relationships with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Trade Council in Japan.
The company has also participated twice in ROBOTBRAG and has been introduced to companies within robotics and manufacturing through the ecosystem. These connections have helped open doors to international networks, including the European Space ecosystem.
In 2025, Scurid reached another milestone when it won the Startup Arena at Automatica in Munich, taking home both the €5,000 prize and the title of Europe’s best robotics startup.
For Sushant Pandey, the company’s international reach demonstrates how connections created in Odense can extend far beyond the local ecosystem.
– Several of these important connections began through Odense Robotics. We want to keep building on those relationships as we grow internationally, he says.
Ready for the next chapter
Scurid’s next phase will focus on developing its business in Denmark, the wider EU and Japan while continuing core R&D in Odense.
Manufacturing and robotics, space and defence define its sector priorities as the company develops both its software and hardware offerings.
– I want us to build a business that can grow well beyond its first markets. The work now is to deepen our customer relationships, keep developing the product and make each deployment easier to repeat. That is how we intend to turn our ambition into scale, says Sushant.
For Scurid, leaving the incubator is therefore not about saying goodbye to Odense. Instead, it marks the beginning of a new chapter built on the foundation the company has established here over the past two years.
