How a Technology Screening works
Typically, the process can be divided into four phases.
1. Identifying needs

In close dialogue with your organisation, we establish the success criteria that are crucial for an effective solution to your specific challenge. We assess the importance of these criteria and ensure that all risk factors are identified.
2. Mapping of potential solutions
During the mapping phase, we think broadly, and nothing is ruled out in advance. Here, we draw on one of the Danish Technological Institute’s greatest strengths: our interdisciplinary breadth combined with in-depth specialist expertise. This often leads to ideas and proposals that have emerged across disciplines and sectors, but which can be applied to your business.
At the same time, we search relevant databases, comb through existing literature, contact potential suppliers – and are happy to reach out to relevant experts in our network.
You do not want to miss out on a potential solution that your business is unaware of. Our expertise and breadth of knowledge ensure that every avenue is explored.
3. Evaluation of solutions
In this phase, we weigh up the risks and potential of each individual solution. In assessing the solutions, we draw on our collective experience in product development, our knowledge of materials and how they interact, and their chemical and product-specific properties – all assessed against the requirements we have jointly established for your desired solution.
4. A solid basis for decision-making
Finally, we present our conclusions to you and go through them together. This may, for example, take place during a workshop, where there is ample opportunity for in-depth discussion of the individual proposed solutions.
You will also receive our conclusions in a detailed overview that provides both insight and a broad perspective – complete with our specialists’ assessment of the strengths and risks associated with each individual solution.
