Micro algae are one of the most important bio-resources of the future and use sunlight for energy. Micro algae are found everywhere in nature, can have enormous growth rates and can be a renewable source of valuable biomass.
This algal biomass is not only a renewable source of fertilizer and bio-energy, but also of many different compounds for high value bio-products, for use in; food, health products, cosmetics, feed for livestock and fish as well as ingredients for medicine and industrial application, thereby contributing to the tendency towards natural solutions. Last but not least, micro algae can be used to reclaim lost nutrients from e.g. process water, water from flue gas scrubbing, bilge water from livestock ventilation, drainage and waste water and can in this way contribute to optimizing resources and reducing emissions in a production.
Over the last many years, we have built up laboratories and knowledge regarding testing, characterisation, upscaling and optimisation of growth conditions for microalgae. Our upscaling facilities cover microalgae production from single cell to continual production in 750L photo bio-reactors, permitting us to advise and help you with moving microalgae from the research scale to pilot production and harvest.
