Carbon Capture Lab
What is CCUS?
CCUS stands for Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage. CCUS works by capturing CO₂ either directly from the source or from the atmosphere. The captured CO₂ can then either be used immediately or permanently stored in geological reservoirs.
CO₂ can subsequently be used for other purposes, such as food and beverage production, chemicals, construction materials and synthetic aviation fuels, thereby replacing the use of fossil-derived CO₂.
Societal context
- The Danish Government aims to capture 34 million metric tons of CO₂ and store 3.2 million metric tons of CO₂ by 2030.
- CCUS is one of the energy technologies that can support the maturation of the green transition.
Our capabilities
Our Carbon Capture Lab focuses on next-generation CO₂ capture technologies, enabling companies to test prototypes at a manageable and commercially viable scale.
At the facility, projects and companies can test technologies aimed at reducing energy consumption and emissions, as well as addressing technological challenges- For example, by testing carbon capture solutions for different types of emissions from industry and power plants.
What we offer
- Strategic and technological consultancy on the maturation and validation of CCUS technologies.
- Testing, further development and documentation of the real-world performance of new CCUS technologies.
