Panel discussion at the end of the theme day on Digital Calibration Certificates 2025

DCC Theme Day 2025

International Digital Calibration Certificate Theme Day 2025 at DTI

On 3 December 2025, the Danish Technological Institute hosted the international Digital Calibration Certificate (DCC) Theme Day 2025 at our facilities in Aarhus. Participants joined both on-site and online from across Europe and the rest of the world, with more than 20 countries represented.

The event brought together experts, industry, authorities, and researchers for presentations and discussions on topics such as:

  • The future of Digital Calibration Certificates (DCC) and the DCX framework
  • Tools for creating and managing digital calibration processes
  • International experiences with DCC implementation
  • Optimising digital workflows in calibration
  • Industry perspectives, use cases, and demonstrators
  • Standardisation, software engineering, and digital hubs in metrology
  • Visions for the continued digital transformation within the field

Why are Digital Calibration Certificates important?

Calibration is a cornerstone of trust, documentation, and safety across many sectors – from medical devices, food and pharmaceuticals to energy, transport, and advanced manufacturing. When calibration certificates become fully digital, they enable more coherent, secure, and efficient processes for companies, authorities, and end-users.

Digital Calibration Certificates help to:

  • make it easier to document and trace measurement accuracy and compliance with standards – supporting both product quality and consumer safety
  • reduce the risk of errors associated with manual handling of data and documents
  • streamline workflows and ensure faster access to required information, for example in audits, quality control, or export
  • support international trade by simplifying the acceptance and exchange of documentation across borders
  • contribute to the green transition through more data-efficient and resource-saving workflows

The digitalisation of calibration documentation is therefore not just a technical topic for specialists. It is an important driver in building a safer, more efficient, and more connected digital ecosystem, strengthening competitiveness, innovation, and trust in measurements and data.
