Meet our specialists - Within analysis and testing of metals
At the Danish Technological Institute, we have a large metal laboratory for testing and analysis, and we have some of the country’s leading specialists in metallic materials - therefore we can help you ensure and document the quality of your products.
Our specialists are ready to assist with everything from quality challenges and failures of mechanical parts and structures to guidance on material selection. We provide assistance both on-site and in our own laboratory – for example by examining deviating material properties, setting up quality systems and test protocols, or determining the cause of failures. All of this is aimed at optimally protecting your company against unforeseen expenses and the risk of material failure.
Below you can meet some of our specialists.
Otto Lundgren Hejgaard
Product manager – mechanical testing
Email: othe@teknologisk.dk // phone: +45 7220 1251
Otto holds a BA in Mechanical Engineering, which he uses in the department for mechanical testing. He spends part of his time building test setups to evaluate customers’ products – e.g. in relation to standardized requirements. He also focuses on the operation of the laboratory and on ensuring that equipment and machinery are functioning optimally.
Areas of expertise: Mechanical functional testing of components and structures, standardized mechanical material testing, on-site tests and measurements, and procedure testing of welds.
Michael Perolle Jensen
Business manager – mechanical testing
Email: mpj@teknologisk.dk // phone: +45 7220 2490
Michael holds a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and works with the development and execution of industrial testing and business projects within mechanical testing. The focus is on turning challenges into concrete and applicable solutions in collaboration with industry.
Areas of expertise: Professional development in mechanical testing, industrial testing and development projects, mechanical functional testing, bolted joints (including testing, assessment, and application), and technical sparring.
Thomas
Larsen
Specialist – metallurgy
Email: tlar@teknologisk.dk // phone: +45 7220 3181
Thomas has a background in materials technology and an industrial PhD focusing on materials in fuel cells. His work areas include metallurgical examinations of alloys, corrosion investigations, failure analyses, as well as technical sparring regarding material selection.
Areas of expertise: Metallurgy, corrosion, failure analysis, mechanical testing, material selection, and inspections.
Nils Lau Nyborg Broge
Specialist – metallurgy
Email: nlbr@teknologisk.dk // phone: +45 7220 2433
Nils holds a PhD in materials chemistry and has previously conducted research on the precipitation of metallic and ceramic nanoparticles at high pressure and temperature. He works with testing and consultancy related to corrosion, identification of particles, investigations of fractures and root cause analyses, as well as sparring in cases of disputes or breakdowns. In addition, he supports new products and solutions on the market with consultancy and testing for validation and approval.
Areas of expertise: Metallurgy, corrosion, fracture and failure investigations, particle identification, and chemical characterization.
Søren Jepsen Mark
Product manager - metallurgy
Email: sjm@teknologisk.dk // phone: +45 7220 1894
Søren holds an MSc in Engineering in materials technology and assists large and small companies as well as public authorities with testing, characterization, and consultancy within metallic materials. The tasks include, among other things, root cause analyses of failed structures in connection with accidents, quality control of metallic components, on-site inspections, and metallurgical examinations in the Danish Technological Institute’s laboratory.
Areas of expertise: Failure and accident investigations, corrosion, on-site condition assessments, quality control, hardness measurements, metallography, and microscopy.
