Quality assurance of plastic products - Change of supplier
Select Page
When a raw material is discontinued, customers typically receive notice and are offered an alternative.
Although the alternative raw material may look similar on paper, experience shows there may be differences that only become apparent when large volumes have been released to the market. The same applies to other types of production changes, e.g., switching to a larger compounder or outsourcing.
To qualify these changes and their impact on product quality, we often perform a range of comparative analyses on products manufactured before and after the change.
Peace of mind is achieved when the impact of the change on the product’s service life is documented using accelerated aging, but such investigations must be planned in advance, as they rarely can be completed in a month.
