Working environment - measuring for chemical and physical components - Gases – organic or inorganic compounds
Select Page
Gaseous substances can be generated and emitted in many situations, e.g., during cleaning, cooking, or combustion, or can be liberated from building materials such as adhesives, sealants, or paint.
The substances may include solvents, organic or inorganic acids, SO₂, NH₃, isocyanates, hydrocarbons, etc. Please also refer to our page on volatile organic compounds = VOC.
In connection with odour components, we can offer screening analyses for substances that often contribute to bad odours.
In occupational environments, samples are often collected by drawing air through a selected medium with a pump that has a defined flow rate. Afterwards, the samples are analysed in the laboratory for the requested parameters. Analyses can be carried out with stationery or portable equipment. Sampling takes about 4 hours (but may take shorter or longer time, depending on the process and level of exposure).
