The facilities and expertise at DTI cover the entire value chain of microalgal bioprocess, including cultivation, harvesting, product extraction, stabilization, and characterization.
Cultivation
Lab-scale: Indoor photobioreactors (500 mL to 5 L)
Pilot: Indoor tubular photobioreactor (25 L and 200 L); Outdoor microalgae field: Photobioreactors (up to 5000 L)
Harvesting
Continuous centrifuge (for both technical and food grade applications)
Vibrating membrane filtration units (both lab scale and pilot scale systems)
Drying
Freeze dryer (for lab scale testing)
Spray Dryer (for food grade applications)
Extraction
Supercritical CO2 extraction (100 g to 5 kg feedstock capacity)
Extraction/hydrolysis tanks (pilot scale systems for food grade protein and starch)
