CCUS

Materials and process qualification for CCUS - Sources of CO2

CO2 is one of the most important greenhouse gases contributing to global warming.

CO2 comes from many sources, but some of the largest are industrial processes that burn fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gas. These processes include, among others, power plants, factories, and the transport sector.

There is great potential for reducing industrial CO2 sources. This can, for example, be done by replacing combustion processes or by using electricity for high-temperature processes.

The Danish Technological Institute can assist with the following services:

  • Conducting pilot trials with alternative combustion processes and catalytic processes
  • Investigating the possibility of switching to electrically heated processes such as resistive heating or industrial induction heating
  • Determining reaction kinetics and gas compositions
  • Conducting safety studies for combustion processes
