Testing of pipes and fittings for drainage and sewerage

The Danish building regulations refer to DS 432 - Wastewater Installations which together with related codes of practice and standards lays down requirements for piping systems, including plastic piping systems. Consequently, the requirements of DS 432 must be met to comply with Danish legislation. In Denmark, it is recommended to use pipes which are impact tested for use in cold climates and marked with an ice crystal.

An INSTA-CERT certificate can be used in order to document that the requirements are met.

INSTA-CERT is a voluntary certification scheme managed by a group of Nordic certification bodies. An INSTA-CERT certificate is valid and applicable in all the Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. INSTA-CERT certified products are marked with the Nordic Poly Mark.

Approval of rat barriers

According to the specific VA Testing and Approval Conditions:

VA PG 2.9930-01, it is possible to obtain a VA approval for rat barriers.

Purpose and scope: VA PG 2.9930-01 outlines the specific technical conditions for testing, self-monitoring, and inspection of rat barriers. It applies to drainage pipes with dimensions ranging from 110 to 250 mm. Larger dimensions require individual assessment for their applicability in main lines or private properties.
